About the Ensemble
The Ferdinand Adler Quartet is named after the former concertmaster of the Shanghai Municipal Orchestra (today's Shanghai Symphony Orchestra), and professor of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
As a concert violinist and music educator, Ferdinand Adler represents the over 400 Jewish refugee musicians who exiled in Shanghai during WWII, and who left lasting legacy of classical music in China.
This ensemble aims at carrying on such a legacy, and spreading the message of peace, understanding, connecting peoples of different cultural and historical backgrounds.
